Flotation

This installation is composed entirely of paintings on a nylon substrate, which, like the cardboard and metal beams, is also a temporary, perishable, and disposable material, undermining the idea of the eternity of the work of art. On top of the transparent sheets, Chefetz depicts a delicate abstraction of pieces of sky at different times: at sunrise and sunset, day and night, summer and winter. They reflect the passage of time, which is revealed to us through the constant change occurring in nature, as well as a vast, infinite space, whose true dimensions we are unable to grasp. It is a landscape without a location, devoid of known coordinates: this could be the sky anywhere. The nylon sheets resemble delicate curtains, which, like the landscapes painted on cardboard, were also separated from their windows. They float in the air, reacting to every movement in space while allowing us to gaze into the sky - even in the absence of a window through which we can look.
